Here at Riverview Aesthetics Surgery, we perform the latest techniques in facelift procedures. We design the procedure around the patient's needs, perform a full history and physical exam on these patients, and design the appropriate facelift procedure to match the patient's anatomy and areas where their face is aging the most.
These patients have loose skin that they complain of in the neck and in the jowl areas. They're starting to develop marionette lines and losing fat from the cheekbone area to give the appearance of sagging and hollowness under the eyelids. A facelift procedure is done under general anesthesia in an outpatient surgical facility or a hospital as part of an outpatient visit. It can also be done under local anesthesia in the right patient, right here in the office.
The scars are around the earlobe, behind the ear, and underneath the sideburn. I take extra time performing my facelifts to keep the scars thin and well hidden. But, also, to make sure that all the excess fat underneath the chin is removed, that extra stitches are put in to support the soft tissue and muscle structure of the cheekbones, and to achieve a tightening, a refreshed look to their face.
But patients in Connecticut typically do not want to look done or have that frozen look. I'm very sensitive to the needs of those patients. I want them to feel confident when they're going back into the dating world, the job force, and make them feel younger and refreshed looking. Patients are very pleased with the results of the procedure. They're very excited to see their younger, more confident selves emerge.
The recovery period is two to three weeks, with one week of swelling and bruising and puffiness around the face. Our staff makes sure that the patients are well aware of how to care for their incisions, and how to make them look as good as possible. We arrange transportation and accommodations for our patients from out of town to make sure that their recovery goes as smoothly as possible.
