Labiaplasty

Here at Riverview Aesthetic Surgery we perform labiaplasties to improve the lives of women who have been self-conscience for a long time because of over growth or hyperthagy of the labia minora. I have a great deal of sympathy for these patients because they have been struggling with the labia minora chafing, getting stuck in clothing, making insertion of tampons or intercourse uncomfortable, sometimes ulcerating, making certain clothing choices unacceptable, having their labia show through yoga pants or certain types of bathing suits. These patients typically hide out from the lime light and don't feel comfortable with intimacy. It gives me great pleasure to restore a normal healthy appearance of the labia minora. The procedure takes about two, two and a half hours and the recovery is typically not too painful. There is some swelling and soreness and we help them take care of their suture line with gentle cleansing and gentle care. Patients are back to work between one and two weeks after labiaplasty and they are very pleased with the results. We keep our scars small, thin and hidden behind the labia majora so that patients can't tell and patients and their family members can't tell that any surgery has been done. Many gynecologists send their patients over because they have seen them struggling with the issues of over growth of the labia minora and we tailor our approach to labiaplasty based on the patient's particular needs. When patients have overgrown labia majora we can add a little bit of liposuction. When they have a particular look that they're looking for, we try to adjust the results of the labiaplasty with maybe a little bit of labia minora or a trimmed labia minora or maybe removing the discolored skin on it or any birth marks that make the patients feel self-conscience. We get rid of that feeling of self-conscientiousness and give women the freedom to feel confident in their sexuality, confident in their clothing choices, and good overall about intimacy in life in general.
